On the needles - No. 1
I feel like I’ve been doing a hundred and one things this week – but it’s all been very exciting. I have a couple of new tech editing clients, I’m having my first foray into knitting a sample of my design to be sent to a magazine and I’ve been swatching left right and centre. My particular favourite has been working with Malabrigo Silky Merino. It’s a half and half merino and silk in a single ply and comes in typically stunning colourways – the one I'm using here is Queguay.
My swatch was a play with some lace ideas, which in the end don’t really work as the yarn is so beautifully variagated and the colours should just be able to speak for themselves – but I’ve still been loving the whole process. I just keep stroking and admiring it!
Then I've been making my first ever good use of my Knit Pro/Knitter's Pride Karbonz tips in the sample for my design for the magazine. It is in a colour I would never have chosen myself (Lana Grossa Cool Baby Wool in Vanille) but I actually think it will look great! Must get back to the needles now.
