White Arum Pattern Release

Today is the release of my latest pattern in collaboration with Les Belles Bouclettes. After all the fun I had designing the Bernina Cardigan I am super thrilled with the result of the shawl/shawlette design I have made with their stunning (totally stunning) fingering weight, Trillium yarn.

Inspired by the simple almost plain beauty of a white arum lily. White Arum is sized as a one-skein shawlette or two-skein shawl. It is a crescent-like shaped shawl knit from tip-to-tip, with no long rows, and it just seems to fly off the needles!

A simple cable and twisted stitch motif, combines with stocking stitch, and a soft lace edging to give an elegantly beautiful accessory to warm your shoulders.

The Trillium yarn is truly scrumptious. This 2-ply 75%/25% blend of mohair and merino is next to the skin soft, while being fuzzy and warm with an incredible sheen. I am very sensitive and never expected to work with a yarn with such a high mohair content that I would happily wear next to my skin. But this is it!

The one-skein shawlette is 100 cm (39.5”) wide and 45 cm (17.25“) deep and is the perfect size to drape over the shoulders on a chilly evening, even closing it at the front with a pin. Alternatively, I have worn it tucked up around my neck, kerchief style for a lovely neck-cuddle under my jacket! Here it is shown in the natural, undyed colour of the yarn.

For proper shawl lovers the two-skein option yields a 156 cm (63”) width and 60 cm (23.5”) depth. More than enough to wrap yourself up in! Here it is shown in the "Wood Rose" colourway.
