Vendemmia hat & launch discount!
Just in time for the arrival of Winter (here in Zurich at least) I have released the my Vendemmia hat pattern. Knit in utterly scrumptious yarn from The Fibre Company (more below), this soft as a cloud hat is a dream to wear!
Vendemmia (ven-dem-me-ah), Italian for harvest or vintage, is generally but not exclusively used to refer to a wine’s vintage (year). With the mock cable rib echoing the vines twisting up the canes, and the scrumptious yarn, this hat is as beautiful and comforting as a smooth red wine with excellent vintage!
What's more, being knit in bulky weight yarn means it works up super fast, making it wonderful quick satisfaction - and a good pick for a gift knit! Pick up your copy by Monday November 13th with 25% discount using the code "TFC" at checkout.
The pattern is provided in several sizes (full details are given on the pattern page), with child, adult medium and large sizes given in both beanie and slouchy styles, so you can knit one for all the family. In the pattern tips are also provided for customisation and some advice should you need to substitute yarn.
The yarn featured in this hat is the super luxurious Tundra from The Fibre Company. Available in a luscious range of colours (all of which work wonderfully with this design) this bulky weight yarn is 60% baby alpaca, 30% merino and 10% silk. The result is a beautifully soft yarn with a wonderful halo and slight sheen, yet which still has enough structure to show the cables and twisted stitched beautifully!
The sample hat is knit in the adult medium beanie size using the "Petrel" colourway, and I added a gorgeous fluffy alpaca pompom from TOFT alpacas, which I think is the perfect finishing touch!
